If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I like to use big markers. There’s something with monoline (which means that all lines are the same width) and the incredibly opaque and shimmering surface that fascinates me. And it’s also great not having to think about how much pressure to add here and there, you can just focus om the letter forms instead. Freeing!
Now I can finally offer you my all time favorite permanent marker, the Sakura Pen Touch, and I’m thrilled to do so. They come in four different colors and with them you’ll either cover the darkest of paper with the metallic ones – the ink is very opaque and saturated – or create exceptional contrasts on white paper, using the black marker. The black marker on white paper is incredible, it’s the blackest black. Like, if you look up the word “contrast” in a dictionary, there’ll be a pic of the black Pen Touch marker there. Or, okay, perhaps it won’t, but you get my point.
The bullet tip is great and rather firm which makes it stay in shape really good over time. Don’t forget to shake the pen before you use it the first time, and to draw the ink to the tip by pressing it all the way down a couple of times.
Oh and the gold and silver ones pair perfectly with the gold and silver Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip – in case you want a thinner tip for outlines, drop shadows or other kind of detailed work.
