A set of three sizes of Pentel’s Brush Pen – Pentel Sign Brush Pen, which is my favorite pen. As much as I love it, sometimes it’s a little too big for those tiny or slightly narrower letters you want to make, and sometimes too small to fill out the front of a card and get a little more umpf in the bargain. (Yes, I’m picky, but you get the idea.) Well, here is the solution! The all-time favorite pen is now available in a set of three different sizes in black. is my favorite pen, but as much as I love it, it’s sometimes a little too big for those small or slightly narrower letters you want to make, and sometimes too small to fill the front of a card and get a little more umpf in the bargain.
The small tip is easy to control, quite hard and firm, and thus of course perfect for smaller letters and styles that do best with monoline lines or narrow line widths. It’s also the easiest to handle, making it a great pen to start practicing with if you haven’t worked much with brush pens before.
The medium tip is the one you’ve probably heard of before, it’s the regular variant that I’ve used so much and which is also available in 30(!) different colors in total.
The large tip is softer and a little more difficult to control, but on the other hand, there are opportunities to work with large variations in line width with this tool. It leaves a bigger impression by creating even more variation between the narrowest and thickest lines it can produce. It’s also insanely good for the Actress, for example.
All Pentel Brush Pens work very well on paper like Lettering Pad Smooth.
If you’re looking for more small brush tips, please check out the Pentel Sign Brush Twin – the smaller of the two is only slightly larger than this one.
And more pens with larger tips in color can be found in Pentel Sign Brush Twin’s large tip, as well as at Stabilo brush.
