You know how I’m always on the lookout for the best pens to offer you? Well, here is an example of this. I got an Edding brush 1340 in my hand when I was in Germany a few years ago (they are manufactured there), and I liked it so much but discovered to my disappointment that it was not available here in Sweden, so now that I am building up my shop properly, I gave it a try to find it, and *ta daa* here it is in all 20 colors! Shame on anyone who gives in. The Edding 1340 Brush has a medium felt tip that has that nice resistance – not too hard and definitely not too soft. I actually find it a bit reminiscent of the smaller Pentel Brush Sign – it’s firm enough to make it reasonably easy to use, but unlike, say, the Artline Supreme Brush Marker, it’s easy to press down for full line width, and there aren’t many of those around, believe me. Like this: it has a good variation between line widths without being too soft and wobbly, while it’s not that hard to get those really crispy, thin lines – it’s like drawing with a smaller, simpler brush pen! The size is slightly smaller than Karin Brushmarker, about the same as Koi Brush but slightly more flexible. Suitable for cards and posters. The color is water-based and is water-soluble until it dries. When it comes to paper, just like other felt tips, it wants a smooth and soft paper to be dragged over so as not to become fuzzy prematurely. Personally, I think the Edding 1340 brush is best suited to coated paper, where the tip comes into its own 100%, and you get a nice little gradient in the bargain (ie the color changes from darker to lighter depending on how hard you press the pen). But if you are not in that direction, smooth of course also works fine, where the colors become a little deeper and darker compared to the coated. I am so happy to be able to offer Edding 1340 brush here in Sweden, I really hope you will like it as much as I do!
