This is the practice sheet used in my Youtube video 26 ways to draw the letter J, where I draw and doodle my way through the alphabet, one letter at a time.

This easy lettering tutorial is still my favorite practice, that’s how all my different styles have emerged. Over time, you’ll learn to see letters more like a picture than just a bunch of lines, and that’s the one thing that I’ve found the most useful as a lettering artist, because that opens up for lettering creativity in the best of ways! This series is all about having fun, ditching perfection and expanding your view of what a letter can look like.

Download it for free, print it and grab a fineliner or two ( I used Sakura Pigma Microns) and draw along with me. Remember, perfection has no room here, and some letters are just… weird, I know that. But the whole idea is to free your mind the limitations of what a letter can look like, in order to tap into your playful creativity where you’ll have fun and build a great muscle memory at the same time. Lettering is supposed to be FUN, people. Life’s too short for the opposite.
