There’s a lot of talk about pens when you Google lettering, illustrating, or other ways of drawing – and rightfully so. The pen is, after all, the main character, no doubt about it. But we need to talk more about paper.
Paper is the pen’s most important dance partner, determining not only how the pen’s color, sheen, and tone appear but also how long the tip stays intact, how much the ink bleeds, and how the pen feels (which is crucial!).
